How to remove front and rear bumper BMW 5-series (F10, F11, F07)

BMW 5-Series VI (F10/F11/F07) (2009-2017)

Depending on the year of manufacture and the type of body, the attachment points may slightly differ.

Front bumper

-open the hood.

-remove the seal.

-under the hood, unscrew the six screws and take out the four pistons that secure the top of the bumper.

-remove the plugs near the fog lights and take out the caps under them.

-around the perimeter from the bottom side, take out the caps and unscrew the screws that secure the bottom of the bumper.

-turn the wheels to the side.

-in the wheel arches, unscrew three screws on each side that secure the wheel arch liners (front part).

-we move the wheel arch liners to the side and unscrew two screws on each side (twisted from bottom to top) that attach the corners of the bumper to the fenders (you need a knob with an extension cord).

-with an assistant, we pull the bumper forward (look behind the wires and hoses).

-disconnect the fog lamp connectors.

-snap off the headlight washer hoses (if any).

-remove the parking sensors (if any).

Rear bumper

-open the trunk lid.

-in the opening of the trunk, remove the lining near the rear lights (keep on the latches, just pull up).

-under the overlays, unscrew one screw on each side (twisted from top to bottom).

-remove the taillights (you can leave them alone, but it will be easier to release the latches).

-from the bottom side, take out the caps (unscrew the screws) that secure the bottom of the bumper.

-in the wheel arches, unscrew two screws on each side that secure the wheel arches (rear).

-behind the wheel arch liners, Unscrew one screw on each side (twisted from bottom to top) that secure the corners of the bumper to the wings.

-release the latches in the wings (pull the corners of the bumper towards you).

-release the latches under the rear lights and in the trunk opening (pull it towards you).

-with an assistant, we pull the bumper back (look behind the wires).

-snap the connectors of the parking sensors or take out the sensors from the bumper (if any).
