The Opel Antara is a compact SUV produced from 2006 to 2015. The model gained popularity due to its balanced design, comfort, and versatility. However, in different countries, it is known by different names. For example, in the UK, this car was sold under the Vauxhall Antara brand. This is because Vauxhall is the British subsidiary of General Motors, just like Opel in Europe. In some other countries, such as Australia, the model was offered under the name Holden Captiva MaXX, emphasizing its belonging to the Captiva family but with more compact dimensions.

Model Description

The Opel Antara was designed as an urban SUV with off-road elements. It offered both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, making it attractive to those looking for a car for everyday use with the possibility of light off-road adventures.

The design of the Antara was in line with Opel's style at the time: understated but modern, with clean lines and a recognizable grille. Inside, the focus was on comfort and practicality: high-quality materials, comfortable seats, and sufficient space for passengers. The trunk, with a volume of about 370 liters (depending on the version), allowed for carrying the essentials, and with the rear seats folded down, the space increased to 1400 liters.

Under the hood, the Antara offered a choice of gasoline and diesel engines. For example, the 2.0-liter diesel with 150 hp was popular for its efficiency and adequate performance. The gasoline versions, such as the 2.4-liter engine with 140 hp, were less economical but provided smooth and quiet driving.
